CONSTRUCTION STOCK PHOTOS SUCK!
How many times have you seen this photo lately?
That’s a really cool photo, search for it in Google and you’ll find more than 400 hits, between webpages, social media postings, and others...
we kid you not!
Here’s another example of an overused STOCK photo…
Real Construction Photos
There are only a handful of great “real” construction stock photos, and they are used everywhere: websites, e-books, slide-decks, and brochures.
You want your business to stand out from the competition, not mimic them. These photos are way overused and your prospect clients will see just another copy-cat if you continue to use them.
Does anyone realize these models are not even portraying construction?
Posing Models Stock Photos
The other 80% of stock photos portray actors who are posing around construction projects. These photos are almost laughable at some points.
Whenever you see those ironed vests and shiny hard hats, know for sure that those models have no idea what a construction project looks like or how they should dress for it.
If your prospect clients are in the construction industry, they will see right through those photos in your materials, and maybe even chuckle when you’re not looking.
Not super technologically advanced, if you know much about construction
Relevant Stock Photos
When searching stock photos, you will often times find something that looks and feels close to what you’re trying to portray, sometimes that works, many times it doesn’t.
Just because part of the photo tells your story, doesn’t mean your prospect client won’t see the rest of the photo. This is especially relevant to new technologies and advancements in the industry.
